A small team of Majitek Agile developers worked closely with reveal tools to productise their concepts and requirements. The application was developed in a series of iterations and the first version of the application was live in production within eight weeks. reveal tools has an ongoing commitment to product enhancement and Majitek have been able to respond with the release of new features to work assist every six weeks.

The high quality of the Web2.0 application was maintained through the use of test driven development and continuous integration processes. The features provided by Majitek GridSystem platform also aided in the development of this application. Leveraging GridSystem’s integrated Spring and Acegi framework support, it provided a complete out-of-the-box platform for a secure, and testable Service Oriented Architecture. Services developed based on the business logic of the work assist application are automatically distributed across the nodes in the grid for active / active redundancy and high throughput. The production environment also utilises an active / failover database, which would normally mean the failover server would be idle awaiting a failure of the primary database server. The Majitek GridSystem orchestrates work to be performed making failover server a compute node until it is required as a failover database server, reducing the TCO of the infrastructure.
